Office Move & others

Lately i'm quite happy with a few things that seem to come along my way.....

1. received my drivers' licence the day before i left for korea. was so happy that i brought it along with me although i'd probably have no use for it there.........

2. got my new biometrics passport with my fave photo in it!

3. i found this song which i've been looking out for in the past 1 and a half years and i finally found it! yipppeeee! this song has a special meaning to me..... i remember in the past i often had to work the opening shift in CP and i always had to clean up the patio or deck the windows of hot pot and sweets & treats. they always start playing the midway music early in the morning and this song is the 2nd track..... i never really knew what this song was (you'll know why despite having listening to it for 4 mths and yet still didn't know what song it was cos the song itself was quite muffled so i never really made out the lyrics) and never knew how to sing it but i was always looking forward to it and will hum along as i do all those dirty job..... it never fail to help kickstart my day....

you know this song? 'I Saw Her Again' from The Papas The Mamas. Erm, the mtv.... erm...... you kn0w lah, last time mtv all not straight to the point..... dunno what they're trying to show..... but heck! its the song i like, nevermind abt the mtv!

anyway, to sidetrack a little, i bought the song over yahoo music, which i later regret lots.... you see..... i'm a law-abiding citizen who's doing the right thing by paying for music and yet the music file gives me so much inconvenience...... i had previously been buying itunes cos my phone supports itune and this time i decided to buy yahoo cos it the normal mp3 file i thought i can easily edit the file more easily for my mobile ringtone but damn, the file is protected such that not only can i not edit it, i can't convert it into an itune file to play on my mobile..... great now! my good behaviour backfires..... shucks i paid for it and i can't even use it now!

4. moved office from the far west of SG to right in the heart of our fave shopping district, Orchard RoAd!

my new office location is quite good and the office itself shouts 'cool'! its newly built on the roof of an existing building and there's this outdoor verandah/deck surround the office where we can walk out onto and chill out...... we've had our opening party on the deck one evening and tell ya..... its so damn cool! we have view of the orchard road and also look further away, you'll see the city hall, suntec city, DHL balloon and even the half-way built Singapore Flyer! its so darn different from the old premise (but of course, in our old premise, there's a luxury of space and familiarity....)

the outdoor verandah. when the deck lights are on, this place look like some al-fresco style walkway....

set up an ice bar on opening night..... wish we have more parties like this in the future....

view from top...

envious?

by the way...... give ya a glimpse of my old office.......

before clearing: my ex-table..... crowded with things! the carpet was so worn out we had to use duct tape to seal the holes to prevent ourselves from tripping.....

after clearing up

the old reception area

my barang barang..... 2 boxs of files & personal items

the movers, shifting our boxes from the old office to the new one....

& tadah, my boxes safely arrived the new office.... & i have a brand new 19'' lcd monitor!

a little snapshot of my new desk & working area!

ok, that's all for now... enjoying the new place now.... hope we dun have to move out in three years time due to sky-rocketing property prices..... hee!

some han-bok pix i left out....

meanwhile, gotta deal with work.... my team got such heavy workload we joke that we can have a new tagline for ourselves: Can be sick but cannot don't come to work.

its so bad we go home at 10pm, 10 plus sometimes. so what if we work in town now, we hardly have the chance to knock off early to shop! hope everything will get better soon and fall into place. Half way through this year already, I resolve to manage work-life balance & perform better in my work. what's your mid-yr resolution?

cheers,
gera!
