(ok, very very dated..... gotta rush almost 2 yr-old pix these quick as i'll be having more travel pix coming up soon!)

Mis's'Adventure - New York (Final & more!)

Final Day in NY. Didn't spend this day with the gers, F took a 10hr bus ride fr Sandusky to NY to meet me.... spent the whole day with him.... the gers, on the other hand, went to bunk in with jan's aunt in some luxurious hotel on another street.

waited for him at the hotel lobby where the gers and i were staying, from 5am, not exactly sure when he'll turn up. went to the starbucks across the street to get a white chocolate latte and continued waiting....

finally at abt 6, a familiar figure appeared before the glass door...... yeah, its him..... a big hug and a deep kiss.... we checked into a room for him and went to look for breakfast..... we walked around new york city early in the morning for abt half hr or 45 mins but couldn't find something we like so ended up at the small deli at the hotel...

only set out to sightsee in the afternoon. and know what? the moment we stepped out of the hotel, we saw....... Condoleezza Rice, US secretary of state, coming out from NY Times building....

went to Times Square Visitor Centre and did a live video thingy that was quite fun (oh u gotta do it if you're in times sq!).... then we walked to the United Nations headquarters, was hoping i could go there and send some postcards fr the United Nations 'country' (yah, heard fr someone that once u're in United Nations, u're a citizen of United Nations, and in UN, not in USA. and the letters or postcards you send from there are from UN, not USA, and you use an UN stamp and not an USA stamp)....

just across the headquarters, there're many protests & demonstrations going on out there, on all sorts of issues.... as usual (i believe so), falungong ppl had their silent protests....... there're everywhere huh.....

Anyway, a pity that UN was closed that day!!! apparently it was 12 Sept that day and they prob had some impt meetings, thus the place was closed.... look for our country flags and took photos after photos of it (haha, like we've never seen our flags before...)

then u can see amany of those live telecast van with satelite system erected high above them.... bet there must be some important meeting there yah....

then again, scoured for some time for a nice turkish restaurant.... walked by this new york fashion week tentage......... and finally had a great late lunch at a mediterranean turkish restaurant. somehow the waiter's kinda irritating, kept interrupting our private moments... foods great! i had ground meat kebab, lentil soup & a baked rice flour dessert that's so yummy that i went to look for it when i was back in singapore, and found it!

wanna see the Statue of Liberty. chose to take the free ferry to Staten Island instead of the ferry to the park where statue of liberty is located. got quite a good view of the statue as the ferry kinda sailed before the statue. & beautiful sunset...

the day went by very very quickly. was soon late evening and we made our way to Brooklyn, my second time there. Wanted to show him the beautiful manhatten nightlights from brooklyn and walk the brooklyn bridge together... spent a lot of time there as we talked about us....

a slow and romantic walk along brooklyn bridge took us back to manhattan. we walked past 9-11 world trade centre site and the memorial lights were not there anymore...

took the subway back to times sq. it was probably like 1am and there were still throngs of ppl plying through the crowded street. this is what i like about new york. another city that truely never sleeps. looked ard for a suitcase to hold that extra baggage after all the shopping at woodbury, but to no avail.....

anyway, went back to carter for the night. was so sleepy i could hardly keep my eyes open. was my last night in NY and with him. felt really really bad, had wanted to spend every single moment with him, awake but physically & mentally, i just couldn't.

the next morning, at 4 plus, awaken by loud knocks on the door. the gers had come to collect their luggage. yep, they have left their luggages in F's room cos the shuttle pick up point is at Carter. i rushed to get my stuff packed and he helped us with our luggage. bade a tearful farewell with him & i never expect that to be the last time i see him...

bye!
