Happy Chinese New Year!

Hmm.... know its a little late for new year greetings now but better late than never right?

its the year of the Pig, which is.... welll... my year! as of every other year, t'is ain't a good year for those borned in the year of the pig.... nothing new to me!

anyway, shall proudly showcase my new year clothes for 2007!

from mugigae, this nice little shop with really sweet paperbags

satin-y white blouse from forever 21. great for work too! i like.......

& then the top i shall term my favourite buy of the year! from forever 21 too & i totally love it! its a nice top with lacy top half & for the bottom half part, it has a satin material that's so silky smooth to feel...... thought its quite special with great combination of material! so much so that i went to the shop at vivo

besides these great buys, there's really nothing interesting about this new yr...... & more so the older i grow..... but i did something kinda meaningful. being the first new yr after i start work proper, i followed my siss with the tradition of giving my parents and grandparents red packet. i feel happy doing so cos its like.... a token of appreciation to their upbringing in a way..... in the end i gave out twice the amt of money i receive throughout the new year (well, you know, when relatives offer red packets, mum always says: dun need lah, she's starts earning money already, dun need to give lah...blah!). but at least the shrinking red packet money can help to nett off the amt of money i spent....

ok, new yr's almost over....... the other day i received something familiar..... ohio tax document!

surprise! dunno why i still receive it cos i've filed for returns last yr and got my money already but anyway, that's not the whole point....... it didn't take me long to realise there's something very wrong with the address stated on the envelope?

take a closer look 'Singapore China'? in what ways has Singapore gotta do with China besides the fact that there's many many China Chinese migrants in Singapore & whatever political fta or ties the countries have.......

from my short stay in the US, understand that there're a fair bit of americans who dun really know where this tiny country is and think she's in China but i really would not have expected a govt affiliate to make such a mistake!

see how far China is away from SG!!! China is Republic of China (ROC) & SG is Singapore, Republic of Singapore & not Singapore, Republic of China!

good thing the letter still end up in Singapore. Dutiful USPS din send it aboard the plane to China.....

the other day when i was spring-cleaning my room, getting it ready for the new yr, i chanced upon a pc of paper.... not an ordinary pc of ppr though......

the words on the paper look familiar and i think its in Turkish and its printed off the internet. what a coincidence right! but how come there's this in my room and i dun remember having printed something like that.... especially when the print date on the document was 6 sept 05, when i was still in the US, & its my last day at CP (& i'm sure i never printed anything there...)...... could this be F's & somehow it accidentally got into my luggage & i brought it along with me to travel the US and Taiwan then back to SG? i dunno & i have no idea what the content is like.... just a pc of paper, but i really found it interesting, very mysterious.... somehow it made my day..

speaking of which, my colleague went for holiday in turkey & got me this souvenir..... its a necklace with a beautiful evil eye & a vial that contains what i believe is a Quran scripture? alright actually i really dunno.... but hey, that's sweet of her... but why does such a beautiful thing have a less than pleasant name called the evil eye?

and she showed me many pix she took there & man, its so beautiful & there's so much to see! historical sites and natural geological formations.... seems like a lot of fun.... i watched a travel doc on the country a couple of weeks back and i so gonna visit cappadoccia & this 'cotton palace' place.... ok.... when will i get to visit there? hmmmm maybe make it travel destination 2008! any takers?
