My Weekend, like you even bother right?

sat - lili's birthday. the day before, wywy, des et moi decided we should show some pamper to the boyfriend-less girl and so.... we sent her a really beautiful bouquet of flowers, bear and balloon! oh... how nice! how sweet of us right? we din identify ourselves in the card, but then, thanks to her nosey-parker colleague (my goodness, how can someone be so kaypoh....), who very helpfully helped her to call up the florist to find out who the sender is.... otherwise she'll prob have a good time guessing who the sender is (haha, not that there are many who will send ya flowers right? heehee)

ok lili, btw this yr V-day if we have no date, let's go shopping together ok! wywy, hope u dun have to join us.... hee...

anyway, happy 24th! yucks! can't believe we're that old..... *shakes head

speaking of which, i remembered one evening recently, i was on a cab home from work..... some how i thought about my age.... and for while, i forgot exactly how old am I. the answer i thought hard was maybe 22, maybe 23.... but i just can't remember how old i was... it took me a while as i backdated to my 21st bday and finally managed to get the answer.... no wonder many ppl always dun answer this qn when being asked. Not that they dao, but they actually forgot abt their ages...... i can totally understand....

also on sat i went to this marketing seminar held by nanyang biz sch, my alma-mater..... the speaker was the famous marketing guru, hermawan kartajaya (yah, beside philip kotler, his book was also one of my texts back in old days). was there talking about marketing in venus, his latest book. just what the heck is marketing in venus?

u know how ppl say women are from venus, men are from mars? its saying that the consumer world these days is moving into venus, people are becoming venutians as consumers' behaviours are more emotional based. people are buying and using products and brands that are able to capture their heart share and make them feel good. its not just about that functional deodorant that prevents body odour, its about using a deodorant that says it can help you attract more chicks, not just abt that condom that's a contraception and reduces the risks of HIV but more about THE condom that makes you believe errrr....... you're a superman.

he spoke abt the 18 guiding principles in marketing in venus, i thought it was somewhat relevant to what I'm doing now although i'd say they are things we've learnt in uni before, just that he puts things in perspective, making it easy to follow and digest.... all in all, not a wasted trip, since i also got the chance to see hwee koon, hengyang, jj and ian mcgovern, my prof. haha and though we've hardly ever spoken before, jj passed a compliment that pretty much made my day. :-)

& strangely, the cover of the book looks rather familiar......

am watching arts central now with this old nun who's way too engrossed in the art pieces she's introducing. i think she's gone a little gaga.... freaking me out!
