Niagara Falls

haha.... i'm back again..... seems like i've been blogging quite alot lately.... not that i'm damn free, juz that tml start work at noon, so can slp later...... shucks, shud i not blog as often? so that u guys will miss me more? haha....

ok....i'm so satisfied with my results that i think ought to announce yet again that i've finally graduated from uni (safe and sound...)! with honours somemore ok....i'm not that bad after all (yah...haha, even though my mine's like the lousiest class of honours.... but nvm.... i'm only gonna tell ppl i got honours, and not mention the class....haha...)....

oh yah, i'm gonna go to niagara falls end of next month! cool! missed the one on wed cos have to work but i've signed up for the next trip yesterday...... my roomie went on wed and brought back pix and pix of the falls.... wow...looking forward to it....

anyway, i thought i ought to show guys my work pass...... it has this pix which i believe is one of those ugliest pix i've taken lately....

the pix looks really bad,taken by some crap HR staff who couldn't be bothered to make sure ppl look good (cos its not their pix mah...)... that's individualism huh...... a few colleagues have yucky pix too... mine's like not the worst...haha....

i went to chk my mail box today and i've finally gotten it! my social security card!
(for security reasons, the final 4 digits of the card are not disclosed....but i like the numbers.... will ask my sis to buy 4d....haha....)

ok...this is like an IC but the card is very lao ya one...its juz a piece of paper and our jaws dropped when my fren and i saw it..... the first thing we tt was that we could probably laminate it, after all its such an impt document and it looks so vulnerable (and it'll be good for the lifetime, meaning that the number is mine to keep permanently, next time if i work or travel in the US, i can still use it...).... and guess what? we're not supposed to laminate it.... think i'll juz keep it inside my passport in my room's locker....

alright, now comes the impt part of my trip...... $$$$$$$$$$...... SALARY!

got 2 paycheck so far..... i kinda got myself an account with a local bank, so my 2nd paychk was directly deposited into the bank.... okok, back to the money part.... ermmmm i think my pay is not bad leh.... afterall i've slogged and deserve it haha....

for my first wk's effort, i've worked 62.9 hrs (sounds like alot huh) and got ard usd 399..... not bad for juz one wk

and for week two, i worked even longer..... clocked 66.6 hrs.... and earned 416.25....

(shucks, dun like the way name is spelt.... teng teng lim.... not used to the way the dates are spelt....why use fahrenheit, ounce, feet, pounds etc instead of degree celcius, ml, metres, kg...?)

here, the more hrs we have to work, the more happy we are, cos need to earn travel fare mah, and this goal is similar for every other singaporeans here.... work long hours and scrimp and save etc.... for me, i dun quite spend alot on meals lah.... i eat breakfast in my dorm (normally would bread or doughnut, doughnuts are of high standard and cheap, but often limit myself cos its too fattening) also have hot cocoa sometimes.... lunch would be either packed sandwich (can save money....have been having some pepperoni sandwich lately, since pepperoni dun quite need refrigeration, i have no fridge, remember?) or cafeteria food which seldom go beyond 3usd (normally 2 plus only...)....... and dinner? know what? i've been here for nearly 3 wks and i've only had 3 dinners so far.... u see, i often end work at ard 9 plus and by the time i get back i'll be tired and juz wanna shower then slp.... dun feel hungry oso... i think that's quite healthy leh....heehee.... sometimes i'll have to deliberately eat fruits at night cos i know i ain;t getting any fibre from the stuff i eat..... my only indulgence is prob the buffet and an occasional entree special from the cafeteria....

oh yah, the one thing that quite bother us is the tax withheld!!! look at how much tax has been deducted from my paycheck?

for two wks' pay, a total of more than 100usd of taxes has been withheld.... if i'm here for 16 wks, there would be more than 800usd being withheld.... the good thing is, not all this money will be taxed.... there are certain taxes which we are exempted from paying.... so it means that some time in april next yr, i'll be a little richer when the tax authorities return me my $$$$.... but but but..... i'd rather have this money to go travelling..... similar sucky thing happens to my 1usd/hr bonus too.... i can only get the bonus after i return to singapore..... yeeeks, this money (which i believe could hit 900 usd) could have been used to buy lotsa souvenirs leh....hmmmm...

dun worry lah.... will at the very least get alot of hershey's choc..... wal-mart sells a bar of hersheys at 38 cents.... that's like less than 65 singaporean cents... haha.....i can be really cheapo ya know....kekeke....

there's this hols coming, its called the memorial day (tho i have not a single idea its in memory of who or what...)and there're gonna be many shops offering memorial day discounts......damn..... i hope i can get an off day that day so i can go grab some stuff at the mall.....

okie....gtg....tired liao.... I SHALL NOT BLOG AS OFTEN FROM NOW ONWARDS..... keke...
